The Petrof Factory

European Award for Excelence

Ray Charles playing Petrof

Made in the Czech Republic from a long heritage of piano making, these high quality pianos have a rich bass and clear treble providing a very romantic tone.

Petrof pianos date back to 1864 with now more than 600 000 pianos made. They have been used by many famous pianists and music establishments over the century, from Wilhelm Kempf and Charles Aznavour to Ray Charles and Sir Paul McCartney.

Petrofs recently gained the Certificate of European Excellence and are used at the Royal Academy of Music who have a 135cm upright and a 210 cm grand.

Petrof pianos have a fine quality of touch and tone that they maintain, despite the rigors of intensive use they receive here at the Royal Academy of Music. I don’t hesitate to speak highly of these pianos and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a high quality instrument.” Head of Technical Services, Royal Academy of Music.

Petrof make a series of uprights from 116cm to 135cm and grands from 148cm to 283cm.

The 118cm Traditional is one of our best selling pianos providing a good range of sound in a fairly compact cabinet. The 125 cm and 131 cm uprights have even more depth of sound. The 174cm and 192cm grands are a good combination of size and richness of tone.
